With the JD Tuning Pre 2000 Chip Tuning Remap option peak engine power and torque arrive sooner than in a standard, un-remapped engine. High engine revs become unnecessary because the engine is producing higher power output at lower engine revs. Since most drivers will typically use the mid rev range, they will see a vast improvement in both engine flexibility, responsiveness and fuel consumption. Once your vehicle has been remapped, you can typically expect to see the following increases in power: •Non-turbo petrol engine: Up to 10% more power •Non-turbo diesel engine: Up to 10% more power •Turbo-petrol engine: Up to 25% more power •Turbo-diesel engine: Up to 40% more power This service involves removing the ECU from the vehicle and applying the remap directly to the eprom microchip inside. In some cases the microchip has to be replaced with a high performance chip. The same power and fuel saving gains are achieved with this process as are with the OBD process but takes longer to complete.
